Thai protest leader 22-year-old Panusaya 'Rung' Sithijirawattanakul is facing up to 135 years in jail after publicly challenging for monarchy reform last year, which included unprecedented calls for curbs to the King's power and wealth.

Many Thai people have gone into exile and have never returned to the country because of Article 112, and many people have been put in jail for more than 50 years.

Ms Sithijirawattanakul is behind bars awaiting trial later this year, with nine charges laid against her.
