Half a billion dollars will be spent by the federal government to establish a new agency overseeing the national responses to major natural disasters
The National Recovery and Resilience Agency or NRRA will provide relief to communities and advise it on how to mitigate the impacts of future weather events.
The NRRA will also help bushfire and cyclone-proof houses, build levees in disaster-prone areas, and improve telecommunications infrastructure.
