South Australia health has advised hospitals in the state to review prescriptions and use risk mitigation strategies following reports of a computing error that adds an extra digit to dosage information.

An error in the Sunrise computer system used throughout many South Australian hospitals has led to some errors when printing dosages. 10 milligrams may print as 100 milligrams, and 15 milligrams as 155 milligrams.

A spokesperson for SA Health says there are no known occurrences of overdose due to the error.
