Queensland Treasurer Cameron Dick says the Federal budget infrastructure funding is a “rotten rip-off”. Over the next decade, ten billion dollars will be spent on major infrastructure projects. $1.6 billion of that money will be for Queensland for projects including Bruce Highway upgrades and the next stage of the Gold Coast Light Rail while South Australia, New South Wales and Victoria will each receive 3 billion or more. Mr Dick says although we welcome the 1.6 billion, Queensland is the most decentralised state and in comparison to what the other states are receiving it pales into insignificance.
