The Queensland Government has announced a $100 million package to tackle unprecedented demand on the health system. 

It comes as reports of the health system reaching a tipping point overnight with both Ipswich and Gold Coast University Hospital reaching capacity, some patients waited hours in an ambulance before being admitted into hospital. 

Health Minister Yvette D’Ath said there were a number of reasons for the increased demand including COVID 19 vaccine rollout and interstate migration.
