Voting for the People’s Choice Awards for the QUBE Effect 2021 are now open.
The awards aim to help evolve and celebrate Brisbane musicians through an intensive development and mentorship program while promoting diversity across cultures, genres, and gender.
Participant Bashir Ali Jibri said the program made him feel welcome to Australia by accepting the music made in his mother language and helped him embrace his culture.
"I think what is the most valuable about the QUBE program is that it opens doors to underground musicians ... creating opportunities for the younger generations to showcase their talents and also get mentoring on how to stay focussed and be creative," said Mr Jibri.
"The QUBE effect program made me feel welcome to Australia by accepting my song in my mother tongue, helped me build the confidence of not being ashamed to embrace my culture and showcase my talent with harmony and courage."
