The critically endangered Mountain pygmy possum has gained a helping hand from unexpected friends in the Czech Republic.
The Prague Zoo has committed $190,000 towards the building of a breeding facility in Lithgow, NSW.
Building the breeding facility is now underway and expected to be completed by spring, it aims to produce a large, healthy population to be released back into their habitats.
