A Grattan Institute report is calling for a complete rethink of immigration policy in Australia.
In an effort to boost the economy and slow the rate of an aging population, the report says Australia should shift from taking older migrant workers, to younger and more skilled workers with proficient English.
A parliamentary inquiry by the Federal government into Australia’s skilled migration program is due to report back in July.
