China will allow families to have up to 3 children as the country’s birth rates continue to decline, however, young couples said it is too expensive to raise a family in China.
In 2016, the country’s one child policy was replaced with a two child policy to increase birth rates, but census data released in May this year shows the number of births recorded last year is the lowest since the 1960s, at only 12 million births.
