Brisbane Airport’s international terminal will be transitioning into a new joint domestic-international terminal by next decade.
Michael Jarvis, head of planning at the Brisbane Airport Corporation, said the transition will happen from 2032, when the planned $1 billion L-shaped terminal is expected to be opened.
Due to the current bidding for the 2032 Summer Olympic Games, plans could be fast-tracked earlier to coincide with the games, if Brisbane is successful.
The existing international terminal will remain in operation until construction eventually begins.
