Brisbane to trial electric buses from June 2021

Electric buses will begin trials in the Brisbane CBD area beginning June 14 in the city’s first renewable energy transport initiative.

There will be 4 electrically-powered buses offering free transport throughout the Brisbane city area, running two City Loop services, routes 40 and 50.

The 4 electric buses create zero tail-pipe emissions while in operation, and have airconditioning, phone charging units for passengers and will run a full day’s service on a single.

The Chinese manufacturing company, Yutong, also makes buses for New Zealand, Europe, Asia and the US.
