The US has celebrated memorial day mask-free.
Since the government changed the masking guidance on may 13, fully vaccinated Americans have been allowed to go mask free.
More than 37 million people were expected to travel over 80km from their homes over memorial day.
Vaccines made a return to normalcy a possibility for Americans, with cases falling since mid-April.
