Queensland scientists said their research had revealed a key factor in studies of stonefish venom, opening the door to better treatments for stings, including from box jellyfish.
The University of Queensland scientists turned to fresh stonefish toxin for their study, unlike other studies that use only freeze-dried venom.
They said the research lead the way for studies of other marine venom.
