Anastasia Palaszczuk defends her pay rise of $27,600 although declaring in August last year there would be "no pay rises for Queensland's MPs until 2023"
This follows after she wrote to the tribunal that any salary increases for the MPs be put on hold for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ms. Palaszczuk states that “Queensland’s economy is coming back, people are out and about, people are functioning, and that is a matter for them, they are independent of government to make those decisions.”
The Premier's annual salary has now risen from just under $400,000 to $427,561 by September 2022.
