The Wildlife Volunteers Association Incorporated is calling for more volunteers as the number of injured wild animals has continued to rise in the Sunshine Coast Region.
Vice chairperson, Donna Brennan, says the rise is linked to the region’s rapid development, with the organisation receiving 1,000 additional calls in the past year.
She said volunteers are needed for many tasks such as transport, manning the 24/7 hotline, and carers.
