A couple had their request to see their newborn baby denied by Queensland Health authorities, despite both parents being fully vaccinated and testing negative for the virus multiple times.

New mother Sarah Haider arrived in Brisbane on May 26, but three days later required an emergency C-section at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

The newborn was then taken to a neonatal intensive care unit with the couple relying on Facetime to see their child. Mrs Haider expressed her frustration at Queensland Health officials for their ‘lack of compassion’ regarding their situation and reached out to media after repeated requests to visit her baby had been denied.
