Queensland Health is facing criticism following an Australian couple being separated from their newborn baby after the baby was born 8 days into their quarantine period due to Queensland’s covid-19 restrictions.
Sarah Haidar was admitted into the Royal Brisbane Hospital for an emergency c-section late last month. Husband Moe Haidar had previously requested an exemption for the birth but due to delays, didn’t receive a response.
“I blame the communication between whoever I needed to get through to get to the emergency management team at the hospital, and the health minister’s office,” says Mr. Haidar.
