The council says thousands of bus commuters are benefiting from Victoria Bridge closing to the general car traffic.
Some drivers travelling through the CBD have longer travel times as a consequence.
Four months after the Victoria Bridge closure, The Council’s infrastructure Committee was presented with new data showing the number of vehicles on Edward and Elizabeth street had decreased by between fifteen-nineteen percent.
But Traffic on the William Jolly Bridge has seen an average weekly volume increase of nine percent.
As a result, the council is monitoring the congestion issue from major projects in the city centre.
