One of the biggest prehistoric crocodile species ever found in Australia has been officially recorded in South Australia.
The Gunggamarandu maunala - "River Boss" - is believed to have been up to seven metres long and resided in the waterways of Darling Downs up to five million years ago.
Researchers discovered the formidable reptile by analysing the remains of a skull found in the region in the 19th century.
