In response to the LNP administration's 2021-2022 budget released yesterday, Labor opposition leaders said, Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner has turned with his tail between his legs.

Labor leader Jared Cassidy said “ratepayers are paying more and more and they’re getting less and less”. The budget has revealed an average rates rise of 3.75%, adding an additional $62 to an occupier's annual bill.

Lord Mayor Schrinner said the political fallout has been worth it seeing as $6 million has been redirected into community groups and charities through grants.
