Lawyers and advocates are campaigning for stronger anti-discrimination laws in Queensland. The 30-year-old laws continue to label racist abuse as “wilful damage”, rather than as a hate crime.
The Cohesive Communities reform group has been at the centre of the push to redefine racist abuse, and tighten laws. As a result a parliamentary Inquiry is now underway.
