Australians can go to their GP and get the Covid-19 vaccine with one catch.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison said the national cabinet agreed on a new no-fault indemnity scheme for GP’s to administer the AstraZeneca vaccine for anyone under the age of 60, willing to accept the rare blood clot risk.

Australian Medical Association President Omar Khorshid said risk of blood clots from the AstraZeneca vaccine is extremely rare and anyone unsure of the benefits of vaccinations should speak to their GP who can provide advice and support to help people come to an informed decision about vaccination.
