Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced the securing of a new advanced military base located 200km northwest of Townsville.

Resources Minister Scott Stewart has stated the initiative, “will bring up to 14,000 Singapore Armed Forces personnel to Queensland every year for 25 years, training for 18 weeks each time and spending money in our local communities while they do”.

Disrupt Land Forces spokesperson Andy Paine has responded to the article stating it only displays facts and figures, without elaborating on the significance of what it means for a military base to be built in rural Queensland.
