Prime Minister Scott Morrison has urged Australians to take their second dose of AstraZeneca within eight weeks of their first dose, rather than the recommended twelve weeks.

The Prime Minister made this announcement in a press conference in Sydney yesterday after New South Wales recorded thirty eight new cases overight.

However, Professor Nancy Baxter of the University of Melbourne says they don’t know how effective the second dose of the vaccine is at eight weeks, despite Morrison saying his recommendation is consistent with the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation.
