Fears of a pandemic resurgence in the United States is gaining steam as the Delta variant is spreading throughout states with low vaccination rates.
President Joe Biden urges the population in the affected states to get vaccinated, as they accounted for 40 percent of all cases last week.
The average number of cases in the US has tripled in the past 30 days rising from around 12,000 to over 32,000, while stock indexes in the share market have plunged due to fears economic recovery will be hampered by the virus.
