After 20 years of US military presence in Afghanistan, President Joe Biden has announced that the US military's combat mission in Iraq will end this year.
Following a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi, Biden says that the plan to withdraw two thousand five hundred American soldiers from the war torn region has begun, and a formal closure of operations in Afghanistan will continue until the end of the year.
