The Brisbane City Council and state government will purchase Riverside land at South Brisbane for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner confirmed the seven hectares of land on Montague Road will host the Games’ International Broadcasting Centre, and would later become a parkland site.
The Riverside land is one of the last remaining portions of land open for redevelopment, with Mayor Schrinner believing its overhaul is the 2032 equivalent to World Expo 88.
