News Zealand's Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, issues an apology to Pacific communities for the discriminatory 1970s dawn raids.

Ms Ardern says, "today, I stand on behalf of the New Zealand Government to offer a formal and unreserved apology to Pacific communities for the discriminatory implementation of the immigration laws of the 1970s that led to the dawn raids."

In efforts to pave a new path, Ms Ardern announced nearly 3 million Australian Dollars in scholarships to Pacific students in New Zealand and the region.
