The Mexican government has sued United States gun manufacturers and distributors in a US federal court in Boston.

The government argument is that US gunmakers' negligent commercial practice have unleashed bloodshed across Mexico.

The unusual lawsuit included gun manufacturers: Smith & Wesson Brands, Barrett Firearms Manufacturing, Beretta USA, Colt’s Manufacturing Company, and Glock.

The argument that gun manufacturers contributed to the trafficking of guns to Mexico is denied by the defendant companies, who believe the Mexican government and cartels are responsible for the rampant crime and corruption.
