Queensland has recorded no new cases of COVID-19. Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young says it had been 10 days since there was an infectious case in the community.

Amid surging cases in NSW, Queensland will continue its strict border rules. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says essential workers with an exemption to cross into Queensland – like emergency and health workers – will have to have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Extra 136,000 doses secured from the vaccine doses received from Poland will be used to ramp up vaccination capacity in Logan and Caboolture.
