The Australian National University in collaboration with Landcare are running a series of trials to test the temperature of Snowy Mountain eucalyptus trees.

The trials aim to test the climate resilience of native Eucalyptus species, with the hope of safeguarding the future of the bush against extreme weather conditions.

If the trials prove successful, it is hoped that they will find new genotypes of Eucalyptus tree which are more resilient to the local climate, which will then be replanted in order to restore the native habitat.
