Josephine Baker will be the first black woman to enter the Paris Pantheon mausoleum, one of the highest honours in France.

Ms Baker, the famed French-American actor, dancer and singer, fought in the French resistance during WWII and later battled racism.

She will be the sixth woman to join around the eighty great national figures in French History.

She will be laid to rest in the Parisian monument on the 30th of November, confirms a report in the Le Parisien newspaper.
