Scamwatch reported almost a 120 per cent increase in investment losses have been associated with scams since early 2020 and 2021.
Reports over the year found the over 65 age group have lost the most money to investment scams so far in 2021, experiencing losses of nearly 20 million dollars, according to more than 500 individual reports.
