The Queensland government has announced that those arriving into the state after its’ snap two-week travel ban must buy return tickets.

Anyone arriving in Queensland for the next fortnight, unless they have a rare exemption, will be forced to wait at the airport or in hotel quarantine until they can book a flight to exit the state or face a $4000 fine.

Queensland residents seeking entry into the state will need to reapply for border passes and then book into a hotel on an allocated date after September 8.
