A Facebook Group called ‘Reef Pollution, a Walk for a Solution’ has been launched by Cairns local Che Tyson to bring his local community together to minimise the amount of rubbish entering the oceans, polluting reefs and ecosystems.

Che said he is frustrated seeing rubbish on the mudflats being washed out to sea and believes the local community can do a better job at ‘keeping it in a bag’.

There will be a walk twice a week at 4pm along the Cairns Esplanade for anyone to join. Rubbish bags will be provided and shoes will be needed to walk the mudflats. Follow the link for the Facebook Group.
