Australian cricket is set to embrace gender neutrality by replacing the term ‘batsmen’ with ‘batters’ in all official documents.
The Marylebone Cricket Club, the governing body of written cricket law in Australia, cites the change as “a natural evolution” fuelled by the unprecedented growth of women’s cricket in the last few years.
The changes are in effect immediately.
