Former Facebook employee Frances Haugen has slammed the social media platform in a statement delivered to the United States Congress.
Haugen says Facebook’s products have the potential to harm children, stoke division, and weaken democracy, and that congressional action was needed.
Her testimony comes just one day after Facebook experienced a six hour long international outage, affecting billions of users and further affecting the site’s reputation.
