Newly appointed NSW premier Dominic Perrottet will not be fined following his decision to drink beer while standing in a pub.
Footage from a recent press conference shows Premier Perrottet and Deputy Premier Paul Toole standing behind the bar at a Sydney pub drinking beer, something which at the time was restricted.
NSW police confirmed last night neither the Premier or the venue would face a fine as “Compliance with Covid-19 restrictions within a venue are the responsibility of the business owner slash manager,” police said.
This comes days after Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews was fined $400 for failing to wear a mask outside Parliament house in Melbourne.
