The federal government’s “Parks Australia” is set to fight allegations of damage to a sacred site.

Parks Australia shares the management of Kakadu National Park with traditional owners; however, Parks Australia is being accused of breaching conditions for building a walking track near the iconic Gunlom falls infinity pool.

The Aboriginal Protection Authority claims the track was built near a sacred site without authority.

If found guilty, Parks Australia could be faced with a $314,000 fine.
