Briefing documents from the Queensland Ambulance Service revealed the organisation has “insufficient resources to manage the workload”.

The documents cover a period of 11 days between April to May 2021, with reports of patients in South-East Queensland being forced to wait hours for an ambulance.

A QAS spokesman has responded to the documents saying the paramedic roster has changed since the 11 day period with a twilight shift introduced to cover the 12 hours to 4am, as well as mentioning ambulances are sent out based in the severity of the situation.
