Victoria has ended its lockdown and curfew today as the state records another 2198 cases, and 16 deaths

The restrictions were officially lifted at 12am last night as the state reached its 70% double vaccination milestone

Melbourne's Lord Mayor Sally Capp said it should be a day of joy as the city emerges from what could be its last COVID-related lockdown.

There are still 23,230 active cases of the virus in Victoria, and 203 people have died during the current Delta outbreak.
