The University of Queensland is developing a $2.5 million research centre to aid in the recovery for people injured in road crashes.
The centre will have a specific focus on musculoskeletal injuries, which are the most common and most expensive aspect of survivable traffic injuries nationwide.
Currently, up to 50% of people injured in road crashes do not recover, and go on to develop further issues of chronic pain and disability.
