With the holiday season in full effect, the Queensland government is encouraging as many vaccinations before borders open.

Despite possible concerns about transmission once borders open, the government is hoping to have as many people double vaccinated but still predict a large influx of cases to last into 2022 with as well as deaths.

Disability advocates like Alyce Nelligan say lack of care about disabled people is disappointing with worries about the safety of those at risk who are unable to vaccinate saying if no measures are taken people could be left behind or shut in.
