More than 40 countries at the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow are committing to ending all investment in new coal projects.
The countries which include Poland, Vietnam and Chile also agree to phase out coal power completely by 2040.
Other countries whose economies are dependent on coal such as Australia, the United States of America and China have not signed the agreement.
