Protests of the military coup in Sudan have been met with violence, as Sudanese police forces fired tear gas at protestors. 

Overnight demonstrators protesting the coup to overthrow the democratic transition by military forces have been arrested with teachers participating in the peaceful demonstrations arrested and detained. 

Mohamid al-Amin, a geography teacher who participated in the protests outside the Ministry of Education says “Police later came and fired tear gas at us though we were simply standing on the streets and carrying banners”
