Queensland met the state government’s threshold for the easing of mask rules yesterday with 80.1 % of the state’s population over 16 now at least partially vaccinated.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said yesterday that people in south east Queensland would no longer need to wear masks indoors, including at schools, workplaces, cafes, pubs, clubs and hairdressers “the minute” 80 % of people over 16 had received one vaccine dose.

Under federal rules, masks remain mandatory in airports and on planes and they are still recommended for public transport and places where people cannot socially distance.
