Individuals have called for an opioid reversal program trialled in Canberra to be rolled out across Australia after its success.
The program run by Canberra Alliance for Harm Minimisation and Advocacy involved supplying opioid drug users with the rapid reversal medication naloxone.
New research by the Burnett institute released last week said the widespread use of this program across Australia could save hundreds of lives.
