A damning report into Parliament House in the wake of Brittany Higgins’ rape allegation has found sexual harassment and bullying is widespread in Parliament with female workers complaining it is “a man’s world.”

An investigation by Sexual Discrimination Commissioner, Kate Jenkins, included face-to-face, online and telephone interviews, written submissions, and interviewing hundreds of current and former staff.

The research found that half of all people currently working at Parliament House have experienced at least one incident of bullying, sexual harassment or actual or attempted sexual assault.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has praised the courage and bravery of Brittany Higgins in driving a national conversation on the culture of misogyny at parliament house, but is yet to act on the 25 recommendations of the review.
