Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce has apologized for an incident involving NT Senator Sam McMahon.
A witness told the ABC that when Nationals colleagues were putting Senator McMahon into a taxi following a Christmas Party that she proceeded to throw several punches towards Nationals director Jonathon Hawkes.
A spokesperson for Mr Joyce says a "contrite apology has been given and accepted" with both parties wanting the issue ended.
