IVF testing has produced the next generation of this year’s mass coral spawning event.
Using microscopic larvae the coral babies have grown to the size of dinner plates and have survived coral bleaching this year.
The Great Barrier Reef Foundation Managing Director Anna Marsden says the unique process is exciting in establishing a future for the reef.
It is the first time the breeding population has been established on the great Barrier Reef using the innovative process.
